About Jigoku Studios

Jigoku Studios is a constantly evolving operation that is based around Japanese Weapons and Japanese Traditional Martial Arts. I originally ran a dojo in Beerwah (Queensland) which had two other rooms that I used to complete the polishing stage of my blades and craft tsuka and saya etc. Due to the lack of air conditioning in the building I named the place 'Jigoku Studios', Jigoku being the Japanese word for Hell. After we moved to Brisbane we decided to keep the name and hence created a 'Cyber' Jigoku Studios that we could expand as our services for our clients broadened. We are still expanding and are currently in the process of starting some joint projects outside of our business and training two apprentices. JAPANESE BLADESMITHING -Weapons Craft- As I am a practitioner of Bujustu all my blades are made with function in mind followed by aesthetics, it really doesnt matter how pretty it is if it cant perform (yes! this statement applies to a lot of other things in life). Although the "REPAIRS AND RESTORATION" is a full time Job and prevents me from spending as much time crafting blades as I'd like it does put me in a position to draw inspiration from the peices I work with. I do like to be creative but still keep within the Japanese Tradition. REPAIRS AND RESTORATION I offer sevices for- 1. Shira saya 2. Full koshirae inc. . -Tsuka and tsukamaki -Saya and lacquering 3. Habaki 4. Some Polishing services 5. Some stuff that has no real description. SUPPLIES Nihonto related products - Tina Shanahan runs this part of the show. She sources and imports the items we have available.From Tsuka ito and Honoki to menuki and Tsuba. If we don't have a product you need, let us know and Tina may be able to get it for you.
